My favourite thing to do when travelling is to find a local ghost tour. They're always fascinating.
It started in Ottawa. I used to go there every May 24 weekend while Adrian did his thing at CanGames. I had nothing to do one evening, and stumbled upon a flyer for The Haunted Walk. I immediately bought a ticket and went. It was so good, so spooky, so fun! I've done the same tour several times, and it's great every time!
Since then, I have tried to do something similar whenever I am in a new city. One very memorable one was in Savannah, Georgia. I went on this tour with Juliet, who was about 11 at the time. She is convinced that she saw the ghost of Molly, a ghost bride who threw herself off a balcony when she found her husband with a servant girl. Then Juliet dressed as Molly for Halloween that year.
Not all ghost walks are created equal. I recommend the Haunted Walk of Kingston, if anyone is looking for something fun to do.
