Lily and Mae Earrings

$35.00

My maternal grandmother and great aunt arrived in Canada in 1912. They were 11 and 5 years old, and were adopted by a Canadian family.  Their lives went fairly smoothly until an incredible plot twist that they didn’t expect occurred.  They were two of the many thousands of children brought from the UK to Canada in the early part of the 20th Century, known as the British Home Children.  There are estimated to be about one million descendants of these children living in Canada today.

Brass, stainless steel, alxa Chalcedony. Available in pink, green, dusty coral.
