The first time I tried yoga, I was in my 20s. I was not overweight but very out of shape. It was the hardest thing I'd ever done.
The second time I tried yoga, it was with my next door neighbour at a hot yoga studio. Not being a fan of heat, I didn't have a good time, but certainly noted the benefits.
The third time I tried yoga, it was with a local teacher who was running classes in her basement. Thank you Carolyn Jackson! It was amazing!! I went every week and felt like a million bucks every time I left her house.
Since then, I've done classes all over the place, and even got a Level One Instructor certification. I taught a few classes, but had to give it up due to my chronic back issues.
I've been wanting to create a piece for my love of yoga for a while now. I didn't want it to be cliché, I wanted something that was not a lotus flower, an Aum, or someone sitting in Lotus, etc. It had to be something else because you can get jewellery with those symbols anywhere.
One thing that has stayed with me - One day someone in the class told me that she wanted to practice like I did because I always had perfect alignment, which is an important aspect of yoga. Thank you Alex, for telling me that!
