The house next door to mine was for sale. The neighbours there were fine, but they were decades older than us and so we didn't have a lot in common. I was worried about who we were going to get next door - I need not have worried.
After the new family moved in, I went over there with a batch of muffins to welcome them, as I always do when we have new neighbours. An older lady answered the door - turned out to be the owner's mother. As we chatted, another woman came down the stairs, in her pyjamas. I loved her instantly, of course.
Victoria has turned out to be the next door neighbour of one's dreams. Not just a neighbour, but a soulmate. She is always there for me, during good times and bad, and we love to share tea and cats and gossip. She is always willing to help those in need, whether they are friends or strangers.
We have even been through a fire together! Also, Victoria is the one who brought our darling Pumpkin Angel into our lives. I really cannot say enough about how this lovely person has made an impact on so many.
